What the hell?

Luther Dickinson, lead guitarist and vocalist for the North Mississippi All Stars, joins the Black Crowes? And one of the tracks on the upcoming Crowes release “Warpaint” is “Whoa Mule”? What the hell is going on? All in all a very cool addition to the Crowes, but if this means less NMAS touring or recording, I’ll be a bit bummed.

And in completely unrelated news, Grady is playing Vancouver and Victoria, and I just found out about it. Thanks for nothing Pollstar. And I’m on the Grady mailing list (at least I thought). Regardless, the Vancouver show wasn’t sold out and I’ve got my ticket now. Not sure about Victoria I’m just going to show up and hope it’s not sold out. Plus Gordie’s doing an in-store thing @ Vancouver’s Long & McQuade (not the one on Hastings in the DTES).

The Black Crowes - Can’t You Hear Me Knocking | MP3

I would have enjoyed hearing this in person. It’s one of those Black Crowes covers that I’ve always loved. But I did get to hear them play Street Fightin’ Man on New Years eve, so I can’t complain much.

Live from Red Rocks, in Morrison, CO, on 9/9/07 -

The Black Crowes - Summer 2007 Tour Dates

The Crowes are back on the road this summer. What’s more interesting, is that they’ve decided to put off releasing the ‘promised’ new album until 2008. From their website: The Black Crowes have decided to extend their break and release their new studio album in early 2008 to coincide with a world tour.

The band will spend the remainder of 2007 completing the recording of their new album, performing a number a new songs at assorted Black Crowes dates this year as well as work independently on outside projects.

An another note, the new “Brothers Of A Feather” combined CD and DVD will be released later this year…keep checking Amorica for a soon to be announced release date.

It’s that time.. Rainy Day Women #12 & #35 | MP3s

Tho I’m more of a “10 minutes after I roll out of bed” kinda fellow, I remember what it was like having a job and/or responsibilities. For those of you who have to wait until 4:20, this one’s for you -

The Black Crowes - Rainy Day Women #12 And #35

ps. I don’t really care what the song is actually about, it’s a stoner anthem and you know it.

The Black Crowes - Pittston, PA - 03/14/05 | Video

Though billed as Mr. Crowes Garden, this show marked the return of The Black Crowes. It was also my favorite show of 2005.
