The webcast will use 5 HD cameras. The video will be fed into a mobile production studio. The audio mix will come from the festival sound board. Then magically distributed to your computer via the Internet.
And you wonder why I call Gov’t Mule the most fan-friendly band of our time… I know what I’ll be doing this weekend.
Something I’m going to try and do more of here @ RMD is cover artists who are unsigned and relatively unheard of. The first is Jack Babineau, a 16 year old from Rhode Island. To date, Jack has been playing a lot of Dave Matthews covers, but has recently broadened his musical taste to include The Allman Brothers. Aside from an obvious natural talent, he has an outstanding stage presence, even though he admits (in the video) to being quite nervous. Jack does have a MySpace profile with more music, but has suggested that I not link to it quite yet, as he’s not entirely happy with the stuff up there. When Jack becomes a star, remember you read about him here first.
Because I get to see Derek Trucks twice in June, I won’t complain too much about the lack of left coast dates. That and I’m crossing my fingers that more dates will be announced..

Update: everyone who has commented so far (1226 42 folks) has been sent an invite. If it didn’t arrive (check your spam folders) please let me know and I’ll have it resent. Plenty of invites left….
Update 2: ok I’ve sent out over 200 invites now (248 exactly) via this site, another one of my blogs and a mailing list that I participate in. Due to the recent Joost update, I’m no longer able to copy and paste email addresses into the “invite” section of Joost. Which makes it a huge hassle, so I’m afraid I’ll have to stop sending them.
If you’re looking for an invite, I would strongly recommend heading to Technorati and search for Joost. You should find plenty of bloggers who are willing to give out invites. Cheers!

Silly note about video: YouTube allows videos that are 100MB in size, and up to 10:00 minutes in length. After 14 (fourteen!) tries, I managed to capture this video from DVD as a 99.5MB, 9:59 video.
